以创作为历史研习

每一件委托都始于一项研究,而非一纸订单。在落凿之前,工作是研习这件作品:将一个纹样追溯至它的时代与大师,体会最初雕出它的匠人如何思考、如何运行,再将濒于失传的手艺带入一件全新之作。

正因如此,出自这间工作室的木雕都是独一无二的:它是对某种历史风格的诠释,而绝非依模板复制的摹本。木材的纹理、叶片的走向、底切的深浅,都留有研习的印记,没有两件会全然相同。这间工作室不出售批量制品,而是交付一件成品,一件以毕生学识、设计与手艺成就的作品。每一件作品,也都为一门历经数百年的技艺,留住了不致湮没的一隅。
