Who we are
This website, grabovetskiy.com, is the studio of Alexander Grabovetskiy, master wood carver, based in Boynton Beach, Florida, United States (“we,” “us,” the “studio”). We are the controller of the personal data you share with us through this site. If you have any question about this policy or your data, write to us at alexander@grabovetskiy.com.
What we collect
We keep this simple, and we collect as little as possible. We only receive personal information when you choose to send it to us through the enquiry form:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number, if you choose to add it (optional);
- the message you write to us about your project;
- the page you were on when you sent the enquiry.
Our web server also keeps standard technical logs (for example your IP address and browser type) for a short time, purely to keep the site secure and working. We do not use analytics, advertising, or any third-party tracking, and we do not build a profile of you.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie this site can set is a secure session cookie for the private studio admin area. It is never set for ordinary visitors, and it does nothing to follow you around the web.
Some pages include videos hosted by YouTube or Vimeo. We load these in privacy mode and only when you click to play. At that point the video provider may set its own cookies, which are governed by that provider’s privacy policy, not ours.
Why we use your information (our legal basis)
We use what you send only to read your enquiry and reply to you about a possible commission. Under the GDPR/UK GDPR this rests on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and on taking steps at your request before a possible agreement. We will not send you newsletters or marketing unless you have asked us to, and we never sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages and contact details for up to 24 months, so we can follow up on a project and pick up a conversation if you come back to us. After that we delete them, unless an ongoing commission or our legal obligations require us to keep them longer. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
Who can see it
Your enquiry reaches Alexander directly. It is stored in the website and in the studio’s customer-relationship and email tools so we can manage and reply to it. A small number of trusted service providers help us run the site and deliver email (for example our website host and our email provider); they process the data only on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Where your information is processed
Our website host and email provider operate secure servers that may be located in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region, this means your information may be transferred to and processed in a country outside your own, including the United States. When that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the service provider’s standard contractual clauses) to protect your data. The processing location may change in the future, but these safeguards still apply.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us to:
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data (“the right to be forgotten”);
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to our using it;
- receive a copy of it in a portable form;
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
To exercise any of these, email alexander@grabovetskiy.com and we will take care of it. If you are in the EEA or the UK and you believe we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We hope you will give us the chance to put it right first.
Children
This site is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable measures to keep your data safe. The enquiry form is protected against spam and abuse, access to the admin area is restricted and time-limited, and we keep the software up to date. No method of transmission over the internet is ever 100% secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the studio or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
Contact us
Questions about your privacy or this policy are always welcome. Write to Alexander at alexander@grabovetskiy.com, or through our contact page.
