Portes, dessus-de-porte et panneaux muraux sculptés à la manière du XVIIIᵉ siècle : relief profond et ornement ajouré qui transforment un plan plat en architecture. Certains restent en tilleul clair, d’autres rehaussés de couleur et d’or.

Dans l’atelier

Pas de moules et pas de raccourcis. Tilleul et chêne travaillés jusqu’à ce que le grain lui-même devienne ornement. C’est cette lenteur qu’exige le relief baroque.

La démarche

Le travail comme étude historique

Chaque commande commence comme un projet de recherche, et non comme une simple commande. Avant la première taille, le travail consiste à étudier la pièce : remonter un motif jusqu’à son époque et à ses maîtres, comprendre comment pensait et se mouvait la main qui l’a sculpté la première, et porter un savoir-faire en voie de disparition dans une œuvre nouvelle.

Une sculpture de cet atelier est, pour cette raison, unique : l’interprétation d’un style historique, jamais une copie tirée d’un gabarit. Le grain du bois, la ligne de la feuille, la profondeur de la contre-dépouille gardent la trace d’une étude et d’une main, et il n’en existe jamais deux semblables. L’atelier ne vend pas un objet de série. Il remet une œuvre achevée, portée par le savoir, le dessin et le métier de toute une vie. Et chaque pièce préserve aussi un peu d’un art séculaire de l’oubli.
